The gaming industry is evergrowing, with the global gaming market set to reach $256.97 billion by 2025. Alongside this figure, 3.2 billion people worldwide play games, indicating that the gaming industry is going nowhere anytime soon. What Kind of Game Is Decentraland (MANA)?
The virtual reality platform Decentraland (MANA) uses the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain technology to run the game. In the game, participants can use crypto-tokens to customise their area and buy land as an NFT. There are two primary tokens available in-game:
- The LAND token – This non-fungible token (NFT) defines land ownership in the game.
- MANA token – This cryptocurrency can purchase your game’s LAND token and enable players to buy other customisations that can be used for your LAND.
Players can earn money by renting or selling their LAND NFTs. The game is essentially a metaverse and acts like a virtual reality game where you can interact with other players and customise their LAND. Players can also visit each other’s LAND. The gameplay heavily relies on players enjoying creating things and interacting with each other. There isn’t a goal or something to be won, which may make it repetitive to those who don’t enjoy virtual reality games.
What Kind of Gameplay Does the Sandbox (SAND) Use?
The Sandbox (SAND) is a virtual metaverse which runs on the Ethereum blockchain. The VoxEdit function in the Sandbox lets users create, market, utilise, and earn money from their Sandbox NFTs. Then, using Game Maker, players may integrate these NFTs uploaded onto the Sandbox Marketplace into their games. Windows users can access it, and iOS and Android users can download it onto their devices.
The Sandbox has three primary crypto tokens:
- The SAND token – Used to purchase all types of things within the game.
- The LAND token – Tokens made of an NFT representing the code of a digital piece of land. The digital land can be filled with items purchased or created in-game.
- The ASSETS token is an NFT that can be purchased from other players or made in The Sandbox Game Maker. The tokens can be used to decorate/fill your digital land.
Due to The Sandbox also being a virtual reality game where players can build items and interact with other players, it is very similar to the gameplay in Decentraland (MANA). Though many people enjoy gameplay like this, some don’t. As the top two P2E games have remarkably similar gameplay, it opens gaps in the market where games with differing gameplay can emerge. One of these games is Moshnake (MOSH).
How Is Moshnake’s (MOSH) Gameplay Different?
Moshnake (MOSH) has taken the beloved ’90s Nokia game The Snake and transformed it entirely. The game now allows players to interact via battle royale-style gaming. As seen in another hugely popular game, Fortnite, battle royale style gaming is loved by many gamers. Moshnake (MSH) uses crypto tokens like:
- VENOM token – Players can use the Venom token to pay entrance fees to the battle royales and as currency to buy specialised merchandise.
- MOSHNAKE token – This token’s primary use is as a governance token which gives players voting rights, but it can also be used as currency to buy NFTs from Moshnakes Internal NFT Marketplace.
The gameplay highly differs from The Sandbox and Decentralnad as it gives players a way of battling and the possibility of experiencing the satisfaction of ‘winning’ a game, making the rewards all the more rewarding.
