aelf’s Node Election Takes Off Without a Hitch as Production Nodes Flock In

aelf

aelf, a fully functional open-source decentralized cloud computing blockchain network offers a multi-layer, multichain infrastructure to create blockchain agnostic enterprise applications. The platform comes complete with its own public chain, oracle network, DeFi protocol and more. By using a combination of a single mainchain and multiple sidechains , in combination with parallel processing and node functionalities, aelf offers a highly flexible modular platform for developers to build a variety of dApps. With its solution, Aelf ensures interoperability with different protocols while offering more than enough room for scalability.

As the protocol ventures towards creating a complete ecosystem to support the fastest growing GameFi, NFT, DeFi, Trading, Gaming, Insurance and other sectors, aelf has recently initiated an exercise to ensure stabilization and decentralization of its Mainnet. The project is in the process of onboarding production nodes through a node election process.

aelf Node Election

aelf has now invited a total of six nodes to participate in its node election that kicked off on the 18th of November. To mark the commemoration of the election, aelf had issued an open invitation to global candidates to participate in order to help aelf build and maintain its mainnet. A total of 17 production nodes will be invited by aelf within this year and so far, six nodes have been announced as production nodes by aelf.

Of the six current participating nodes, five were from reputable nodes, with a sixth mysterious independently community-operated node. Huobi Pool, Bountyblok, MATPool from 8BTC, FBG, RockX, were all invited to participate in the node election, in addition to a community-operated node.

All of the nodes are eager to fill the position of a decision-maker on the aelf mainnet. This comes with various benefits as well as responsibilities for the winning node. All nodes invited to participate in the aelf node election are vetted through four steps before they can become a production node.

aelf Completes 1st And 2nd Election Rounds

aelf has carried out two successful node elections. In each election round, two nodes emerged as winners that were ultimately named as production nodes. For the first round, RockX and MATPool emerged as production nodes following the public node election. This first round ended on November 25th.

On December 2nd, aelf announced the results from the second round of voting for the public node election. In this round, FBG Capital and aelfie were elected as production nodes. The announcement stated that both of these nodes had dedicated themselves to block production and validation work on the mainnet, which led to their election. The aelf mainnet continues to operate in stable condition thanks to the work of these production nodes.

The third round of the public node election is currently underway. Voting began on December 2nd at 3:20 PM (GMT+80 and will run until December 9th at 3:20 PM (GMT+8) where two more production nodes seats will be opened up, making for a total of 11 production nodes being elected on the same day.

How To Vote

Voting in the public node elections is open to all aelf token (ELF) holders who have taken their coins in the governance system. If a holder is unable to vote themselves, then they can transfer their voting tickets to a preferred candidate node that will vote on their behalf. These nodes have free will and are able to place votes without interference from aelf.

For candidates to become production nodes on the aelf mainnet, they would need to complete four steps. First is the technical docking where organizations or individuals support the aelf team at support@aelf.io to dock in the aelf mainnet. Next, candidates are required to complete the node construction, as well as submit introductory information on the Governance section and stake.

Once candidates complete the first two steps, they proceed to the third step, which is the voter election. Here, nodes are voted for by ELF holders. Lastly, production nodes are rotated every week based on voting results from the node election.

Haobo Ma, CEO of aelf, explained that the rules are in place to ensure the stability and sustainability of the aelf mainnet. “The start of the aelf node election will set the foundation for the development of the aelf ecology and we will have the most reputable node on aelf,” said the CEO. All chosen production nodes will help to maintain and develop the aelf mainnet going forward. They will soon be fulfilling their work as judges in the inaugural Metaverse Hackathon – Top of OASIS in the next few weeks.
