BitKeep Announces Rebranding To Bitget Wallet Along 2023 Roadmap, Details Revealed

The BitKeep wallet, one of the largest non-custodial cryptocurrency storage applications, has announced the details of its updated 2023 roadmap. The announcement comes after BitKeep received a $30 million injection from top crypto derivatives exchange Bitget, and entails a complete restructuring of the brand and core management team with the aim of adjusting to new ecosystem alignment and security improvements.

The BitKeep wallet has handed over controlling shareholding to the Bitget platform after the $30 million investment, which saw the acquisition of the 8 million users strong application by the exchange and its incorporation into the larger ecosystem. The new roadmap, published on Twitter, sheds light on BitKeep’s intention to rebrand the application and grant it a more uniform visual appearance that is in line with the general tone of the Bitget ecosystem. The rebranding campaign will also see the renaming of the application to Bitget Wallet, with the updated logo, application interface and website slated to be revealed in the coming weeks.

BitKeep will be leveraging the exchange platform’s security framework to bolster the protection of user funds and will introduce more stringent checks, including partnership with such cybersecurity firms as Certik. MD5 verification and support for such hardware wallet providers as KeyStone will also be implemented, according to the roadmap. Lastly, the inclusion of BitKeep into the larger Bitget ecosystem will provide users of the wallet with the benefit of relying on the $300 million Bitget User Protection Fund in case of any potential threats in the future. The need for such a measure can be illustrated by the fact that BitKeep has consistently stated that it has fully compensated all eligible users who were affected by the security incident that took place in December of 2022.

The roadmap of the BitKeep wallet also highlights the platform’s aim to restructure the management to focus on product development. In a statement related to the announcement, Bitkeep has stated that it will be committed to improving overall service quality as part of its support for BitKeep.
