Building The Future of Web3 Data and Marketing. An Inside Look at Web3m

We founded Web3m on a simple vision: Give crypto companies access to the same powerful marketing tools that they’re used to in web2.

At the beginning, this meant creating a multichannel advertising tool that made it easy for Web3 companies to promote their projects across thousands of Web3-friendly sites. We launched this product in 2023.

Since our launch earlier this year, we’ve continued to expand, adding products that reach beyond the Web3m dashboard. Today, Web3m is trying to reimagine advertising from the ground up. We wrote this article to highlight some of the exciting things we’re building—so that you can be part of it.

From cybersecurity to marketing to crypto

Web3m was born from the founders’ passion for cybersecurity and marketing. Adir Buskila started hacking at the age of 12 and was drawn to the freedom of information on the internet. He learned about privacy and data security by observing other hackers exploit and manipulate people online. Adir’s interest in cybersecurity only grew as he got older. Eventually, Adir even went on to manage the largest cybersecurity community in Israel.

As Adir continued to learn more about data privacy, he couldn’t help but notice a strange overlap on the internet: The same tools and techniques used by nefarious hackers were also used by big tech companies to make money through online advertising. Adir and his friends saw this as an opportunity to create a marketing company that leveraged their hacking and data security skills. Within two years, Adir and his partners used their knowledge of data to build a marketing company that reached $100 million in revenue.

Adir’s childhood passion for security never left him. Adir felt inspired to do more than merely build another marketing company. He was drawn to the decentralized vision of Web3 and wanted to be a part of building a better internet.

The team pivoted to create a marketing platform that put users in control of their own data. This led to the creation of Web3m, a decentralized multichannel ad network that enables advertisers to promote their projects across the crypto space—without invading the privacy of internet users.

More than a marketing dashboard

Web3m was launched as the first decentralized multichannel marketing tool. We created a comprehensive tool for creating, launching, and monitoring your ads across crypto.

Why build a multichannel marketing tool? After speaking with many Web3 marketers and entrepreneurs, we realized that brands in this space have a difficult time promoting on traditional channels like Facebook and Google. They are immediately tagged as a “financial service,” or given many hoops to jump through.

Advertising is a central part of building and scaling a company. We built Web3m as a multichannel marketing tool to make tens of thousands of top crypto and finance websites available to Web3 advertisers.

From the beginning, we wanted to release more than a mere product. We wanted to create a marketing community that was larger than our founding team. That’s why we decided to make all Web3m customers owners in the platform through the help of an NFT.

Reimagine data in web3

The foundation of good advertising is data. That’s why internet marketing was such a revolution: social media and search advertising enables companies to seamlessly get their message in front of the most relevant people.

Of course, data on the internet also has its problems. Some of the biggest tech controversies of the past decade were directly tied to data collection.

So, if someone were to rebuild the internet from scratch, you’d like to think that someone would improve upon the old way of collecting and monetizing data, right? Well, that’s exactly what we’ve done at Web3m.

Our aim is to return control of data to internet users, as the previous model had locked it within a few major tech conglomerates. This resulted in centralized data power, with little benefit for ad-hosting websites or consumers. Data became a walled garden with ever-changing pricing and rules, causing several companies to fail due to the unpredictable shifts in ad platforms or internal data policies.

However, our approach decentralizes data by using blockchain technology, granting equal power to each user and advertiser. Essentially, we’re not just adapting to the evolving marketing landscape, but changing it. Here’s how:

In short: data is collected anonymously and is GDPR compliant. When marketers pay for an ad, a portion of that cost goes toward paying the website host and site visitor whose data are used for targeting.
