Hurry to get whitelisted to mint Bitcoin NFTs
Ordinals, the new protocol deployed on Bitcoin that raises in popularity quickly, brings NFTs to the Bitcoin network. It was not possible before as Bitcoin does not have smart-contracts, compared to Ethereum.
Ordinal protocol applications were enabled by the Taproot soft fork, which took effect in November 2021. Bitcoin Ordinals launched on Jan. 21 2023. And in just 3 weeks there are already more than 100,000 ordinals created.
By using the Ordinals numbering scheme, Bitcoin users can inscribe Bitcoin-native, NFT-like images on satoshis, the smallest denomination of BTC.
According to crypto analytics platform Glassnode, the launch of Bitcoin NFTs has pushed the number of non-zero Bitcoin addresses to an all-time high of 44 million.
Even though the Ordinals count has reached more than 100,000, it still was not possible for non-tech geeks to mint (create) their own Bitcoin Ordinal. It is a very complicated task that requires running a multi-thousand-dollar Bitcoin node and building and running open-source software written in Rust programming language.
Finally there is a platform to mint Bitcoin ordinals. Sign up to get whitelisted. The service will be running in a few days. Until March 1st 2023, only whitelisted members will be able to mint their Bitcoin NFTs.
