Global cryptocurrency exchange BXTEN held a roundtable on the 9th of this month with ICONPLAY, a media broadcaster jointly operated with Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company PLN and SKYLBSTV, to discuss activating content through the establishment of a blockchain-specialized channel.
The roundtable took place at the ICONPLAY headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia, a consortium partner. Both parties agreed to collaborate on blockchain education, media content production, mutual exchange in research, co-planning of Web3 industry events and programs, training blockchain-specialized broadcasters, and the overall activation of Indonesia’s leading blockchain-specialized channel.
ICONPLAY is a state-owned platform broadcaster based on the internet network of Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company PLN. Since its official launch in August, the platform has been broadcasting over 200 channels nationwide, offering a wide range of programming, including news, science, education, entertainment, music, and drama. Additionally, ICONPLAY, which has secured leadership in media broadcasting with its 2.5 million installed internet networks across Indonesia, has been recognized for its growth potential and is expanding content partnerships with global media companies such as Emtek Group’s Videocom, Trans Group’s Cubum, Iqiyi, and qiTV (we tv). It will also sign a collaboration deal with Netflix and Disney this month.
Since the beginning of this year, BXTEN has met with ICONPLAY’s executives to discuss the establishment of a blockchain-specialized channel and collaboration on Web3 content media. This collaboration on the blockchain-specialized channel aligns with the strategic positioning of ICONPLAY’s management, which consists of influential political and economic figures in Indonesia. Since Indonesia has over 20 million cryptocurrency investors as of 2023 and is becoming a hub for Web3 in Southeast Asia, the partnership contributes significantly to blockchain education and market activation under Indonesian government regulations.
