Upcoming Web3 Beat ‘Em Up Game “Vice and Virtue®” Set to Star UFC Legend Jon Jones

Fans of classic side-scrolling beat ‘em up games like Streets of Rage, Final Fight and Double Dragon are in for a treat, with the forthcoming launch of Vice and Virtue® from Raini Studios.

A ‘Haller’ Fame Team

The hotly-anticipated game captures the essence of those nostalgic titles, while simultaneously enhancing the gameplay experience with the latest advancements in motion capture and graphics. Set for an early 2025 release, the game also stars none other than UFC heavyweight king Jon Jones.

A former light heavyweight champion regarded as one of the most formidable mixed martial artists in history, Jones brings his unparalleled fighting skills – not to mention his charisma – to Vice and Virtue®. With 27 wins from 29 contests, including ten knockouts and seven submissions, the fighter known as “Bones” holds the records for most title defences, most wins, and longest win streak in UFC heavyweight history.

Vice and Virtue® is the brainchild of a rockstar development team led by gaming industry legend Mike Haller, who previously spearheaded the teams behind major hits like Medal of Honor, Def Jam Vendetta, and the first 3D wrestling games on console. Haller has worked on numerous successful PlayStation, XBox and Nintendo titles throughout his illustrious career.

“Jon’s next-level athleticism, unique fighting skills and big personality, combined with the latest gaming technologies, will make for an unbelievably immersive beat ‘em up experience,” predicts Haller, who is Co-founder of CEDEN Network, the gaming company powering the game’s infrastructure.

“We’re delighted to be working with a living legend like Jon to bring Vice and Virtue® to life,” added Haller.

Classic Gameplay, Modern Tech

Raini Studios, the full-service game development studio behind Vice and Virtue®, belongs to the ecosystem of CEDEN Network which acquired the studio late last year alongside Kanpai Studios, the company behind the Kanpai Pandas. Raini has already enjoyed success with its free-to-play digital trading card game The Lords of Light, available on PC and Mobile and which became the first release on gaming-focused Avalanche subnet Beam last September.

By combining classic gameplay with modern tech – and joining forces with a real-life combat superstar in Jon Jones – Vice and Virtue® is shaping up to be a truly unique entry in the beloved beat ‘em up genre. Fans of old-school video games, as well as players eager to experience the latest advancements in blockchain-powered gaming, won’t want to miss this one when it arrives next year.
