Top 7 Cryptocurrency Podcasts That You Can’t Afford to Miss

When you’re trying to learn about bitcoins and altcoins and struggling to make sense of the latest cryptocurrency news, you really don’t want to work too hard. You want to be able to get a grip on the issue quickly and make some smart investments. The easiest way to do that is to make listening to a cryptocurrency podcast a regular part of your routine. Here are seven of my favorite cryptocurrency podcasts that I listen to on a regular basis.

Bad Crypto

Travis Wright and Joel Comm both have long experience in the world of technology but when they started their Bad Crypto podcast in late 2017, they admitted that they were still learning about cryptocurrency themselves. Through interviews with experts, down-to-earth explanations and plenty of humor, they take thousands of people with them as they learn about Ethereum, ICOs and everything crypto. Listen to Bad Crypto during your morning commute and you’ll find it’s a place to both learn and have fun. Wright and Comm might have started with little knowledge but they’ve picked up plenty of expertise without losing their sense of humor.

Blockchain Insider

Cryptocurrency doesn’t operate alone. It’s part of the revolution taking place in Fintech, a change being built in part on the back of the blockchain. Simon Taylor and Colin Platt’s weekly podcast, the Blockchain Insider, discusses Bitcoin and distributed ledgers but it puts the rise of new ways of transferring funds in the context of new financial technology. Each episode lasts an hour and usually contains at least one interview that shines on a corner of cryptocurrency that other experts often ignore.

Unchained

You don’t need much more than a microphone to create a podcast but it helps if you have personality, knowledge and an understanding of great content. Laura Shin started her Unchained podcast while she was still a Senior Editor at Forbes. She now runs Unchained full-time, releasing a new podcast every week. Think of Unchained as the place to come for incisive interviews with cryptocurrency experts who are grilled by someone who knows what questions to ask and how to extract the most important information from her guests. It’s great for beginners and advanced crypto followers alike.

Bitcoin Knowledge Podcast

The rise of cryptocurrencies has the potential to disrupt everything, from the banking sector to commerce and national economies. Trace Mayer is a monetary scientist. He has degrees in accounting and law and was one of the first bloggers to see in Bitcoin an opportunity for financial freedom and monetary independence. His Bitcoin Knowledge podcast includes expert interviews and analysis of the latest news in cryptocurrency and a firm belief in the power of the blockchain.

The Bitcoin Podcast Network

Why restrict yourself to just one podcast when you can benefit from the wisdom of a bunch of smart cryptocurrency broadcasters? The Bitcoin Podcast Network started as a single regular podcast but it’s now become a network on which no fewer than eight different experts share their views, their expertise, and their analyses. Contributors include Jason Jenkins of Jenkins Risk Management and guests range from angel investor Jack Tatar to Los Angeles DJs discussing their involvement in cryptocurrency. When you’re mixing music with digital money, you’ve got a good podcast for a long drive home. Episodes can last well over ninety minutes.

Epicenter

Epicenter is one of the oldest cryptocurrency podcasts. Broadcast every week, it dates back to 2013 when Brian Fabian Crain and Sebastien Couture produced their first episode for the Let’s Talk Bitcoin podcast. They soon brought in guests as big as Vitalik Buterin and Mike Hearn, added video content and grew to include the views of Meher Roy, a biochemical engineer and blockchain expert. The podcast now has more than 10,000 regular listeners and is one of the best-connected cryptocurrency podcasts available. It’s not a place to turn for beginner-style introductory lessons but it will give experienced followers deep insights into the latest trends and the future directions of cryptocurrencies.

Let’s Talk Bitcoin

Created by Andreas Antonopolous, Let’s Talk Bitcoin is the granddaddy of cryptocurrency podcasts. Few crypto experts come bigger than Antonopolous who sits on the Oversight Committee for the Bitcoin Reference Rate at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and in 2014 became a teaching fellow at the University of Nicosia, the world’s first university to teach a Master’s Degree in Digital Currency. Although the first broadcasts were by Antonopolous, Let’s Talk Bitcoin has since branched out to become a network with content from a range of different cryptocurrency experts from around the world.
