Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino vs. Lina Lansberg

Cyborg returns to the cage. The UFC was looking for someone for Cyborg to fight and had to look outside the league to get Lina Lansberg.

Although Lansberg is not a bad fighter, she doesn’t have the aggression that Cyborg has. There is no value on any bets on the Cyborg side. There is an angle that Lansberg could win or get the fight to the second round. Pay attention to the weigh-ins. Cyborg has to cut a lot of weight to get down to 140. On Monday, she reportedly weighed 160. If she has a hard time with the weight cut, Lansberg could have a chance.

I don’t have any bets for this one, but if I had to I would bet the prop “Fight goes to the second round” 2 which pays a nice 3.19 just for Lansberg to survive to the second.

Antonio Silva vs Roy Nelson

Bigfoot vs. Big Country, this is a fight of two of the largest heavy weights. Bigfoot being one of the tallest, and maybe has the biggest hands in UFC history. Nelson, of course, is known for his belly.

If Silva is going to have a chance here, he needs to use the same tactic that he used against Overeem. He used his reach to throw jabs and kicks up the middle. He kept his distance and did not do anything too wild. With this strategy, he could tire out Nelson and go for the win in the third round.

I doubt it will play out like that though. I can see Nelson getting the KO in round one. Bigfoot has a suspect chin and has been knocked out a few times. Even though Bigfoot has an eight-inch reach advantage, Nelson is used to dealing with reach and is good at finding a home for his right hand on people’s chins.

There is not much value on the Nelson side but you can get Nelson via submission for 13.00 and take the Nelson handicap -3.5 when it comes out.

Luan Chagas vs Erick Silva

This is going to be a battle. Both fighters have knockout power and submission skills. Chaga is coming off a draw, uses hard body and head kicks and comes forward with little respect for his oppoinent. He will also go for submissions when on the ground. He is always looking for a finish. Silva is nearly the same. He has fast stiking good kicks and has knockout power as well as good submission skills.

I think this one is going to finish early. I’m going with the under 1.5 for 2.450

There has been a lot of discussion about fighter pay. At UFC 203, Mickey Gall beat CM Punk in round one. Gall earned a total of $30,000 — half of that as a bonus for winning. CM Punk was paid $500,000 even though he lost.

Similarly, Lansberg is most likely getting paid less than Gall and is in the main event fight. If Cyborg is not able to make weight, she will be forced to forfeit a good chunk of her paycheck to Lansberg.

Do you think that Cyborg will be able to make weight? Will she get yet another first round win?
