Dubai Crypto Venture Capital boosts startups and VCs in the upgraded Crypto Thursday event

On Thursday, 23, Opus Tower hosted the updated version of Dubai Crypto Thursdays — Dubai Crypto Venture Capital (DCVC). The selective event opened the door to 50+ VCs, 100+ investors, 120+ Crypto Executives and 12+ startups.

The new DCVC was enhanced, supported by the vital partner TONBanking. In addition, the organizers aimed to attract a new audience — not only the crypto community — making the event more engaging and entertaining.

The media partner of the event was Desert Storm Podcast Studio. DCVC was also supported by such partners as the market-agnostic agency Jeta. Apart from the key partners, the Crypto Executive community, the GuyWay community, Connect + community also supported the event.

“I’m so proud that we managed to host such an event as DCVC. When you conduct updates, you always worry whether your audience is satisfied with the result. We did everything to make DCVC different from our previous Crypto Thursdays and any other crypto events. We focused on selectivity, added a bit of art, and broadened the audience — and here’s the result. Besides, we raised the event status with the top executives in the C-level zone. In my opinion, the reboot was an absolute success”, says Marat Minkin, creator and ideological inspirer of the event.

The event hosted three areas — Main Stage, C-level and Art zones.

The startups pitched their projects on the Main Stage. The speakers held presentations telling the essence of their projects and showing their unique features. These were not just mere presentations but live discussions where VCs and the audience could ask questions and comment on speakers’ ideas. The participants got a professional opinion on all the projects and could learn all the necessary information about them, including their profitability.

The startup presentations were divided into three blocks; each included presentations of four projects. Here is the full list of DCVC startups:

VC comments followed the presentation of each to clarify some issues. The startup Swipe2Trade won the main prize of DCVC.

The event was attended by such significant people as: Jay Hao (CEO of OKX exchange Worldwide), Marwan Alzarouni (CEO of Dubai Blockchain Center (DBCC), Marat Minkin (Founder of TonBanking, DEFI platform in telegram ecosystem and TONCOIN community in Dubai, Co-founder of IQ commodity exchange, Advisor of BantGo and Metaforest), Wasim Al Imam (co-founder of TonBanking), Davinci Jeremie (Speaker, Crypto Educator), Assem Mansour (HH Sheikh Faisal Al Nuaimi Group Senior Vice President of Business Development, UAE), Guy Yanpolskiy (UAE Business Concierge), Diana Dalo (Sun Holdings Capital), Hicham BELGOUM (Private Equity & Venture Capital), Avgusta Geneses (MindRock Capital), Kira Murasheva, Alexey Murashev (AM Capital), Rupert Searle (Private Investor, Globaleye), Evgeniy Arkhipov (Founder of DDS Soft & DDS Capital), Tatyana Titova (Global Expansion Advisor. Web3 community Guru Collective).

All of them joined the C-level zone, along with Vazgen Yeghiazar (RHI Club), Faraj Abutalibov (Founder of a crypto executives community (1200+ C-lvl execs) / founder of Daofund VC), Tim Gareev (strategic mascot, Jeta), Andrey Trubetskoy (CEO Jeta), Jorge Sebastiao (EcoX) and many others. Moreover, the C-level officials were interviewed in the mobile studio throughout the entire event. The interviews were broadcasted on the big screen, where all the attendees could see them in real-time format.

The Art zone was represented with the project Charity Kiss. Tim Gareev, the strategic mascot of Jeta, featured NFT works inspired by Gustav Klimt’s famous painting The Kiss.

The last startup presentation was held at 9:15 pm, followed by VC comments. Thus, the formal part of DCVC was over at about 9:30 pm, and the event continued with a stylish afterparty.

“When planning the event, we faced the true Hamlet question: to be the platform between creators and sponsors and not to be the franchising. As for me, we have covered this point. DCVC joined together prospective startups and VCs who were looking for reliable investments. It was a purely high-level crypto event that involved even the non-crypto community with its art element. As a result, the startups got a professional point of view and budgets, and VCs found the investment options. Well, everyone profited”, says Wasim Al imam, co-founder of TONBanking Foundation.

Dubai Crypto Venture Capital provided a brilliant opportunity for startups and VCs to join together, make profitable investments, and realize outstanding projects. Moreover, the audience’s warm welcome confidently opens up a new page of Crypto Thursdays, creating a solid international community.
