Al-Bassam was a pivotal member of the notorious hacking collective LulzSec, engaging in high-profile cyber attacks against organizations like the CIA and Sony, leading to his arrest in 2011.
Post-arrest, Al-Bassam openly discussed his hacking endeavours, with a memorable feat being his live hack of the Westboro Baptist Church during a radio show. Transitioning from his controversial past, he pursued computer science academically and is now the driving force behind Celestia, a pioneering modular blockchain concept.
What Sets Celestia Apart?

Traditional blockchains require nodes to validate both consensus mechanisms and transaction executions.
