When football star Lionel Messi puts something out to his 477 million followers on Instagram, the world takes notice. And this time is no different!
On Thursday, July 6th Messi posted a video, and now everyone wants to know what it means. The video is only 33 seconds long, but it was more than enough for people to get into investigation mode and try to find hidden meanings.
What seems pretty clear is that the video has something to do with the environment, as Messi is kicking away a can labeled pollution. But some internet sleuths may have found more clues.
As noted by some, the video has a billboard in a city that Messi is walking through. If we take a closer look, the billboard seems to display the logo of a blockchain venture called $PLANET.
What is $PLANET, you ask?
Well, we went ahead to look at this blockchain project, and there might be something to this story.
We found that $PLANET is a project that describes itself as a global movement harnessing the power of the blockchain to address crucial social and sustainability challenges for a transparent and sustainable future.
The project was introduced as a fair launch on May 30th, 2023. Ever since its launch, the blockchain project has had an aura of mystery around it, with not much revealed until recently. The community knew that celebrities were involved, and that the aim was to do something to better the planet we live on.
On June 23rd, 2023, PLANET revealed what it had long been hinting at – announcing itself as a platform designed to save the planet by harnessing the power of blockchain technologies.

Launched on the popular Etheruem blockchain, the $PLANET token is currently available for trading on Uniswap v2. And now, with what seems to be the PLANET logo hidden in a video shared by Messi, the question on everyone’s mind is — could Messi really be talking about this PLANET project?
