Pepe Coin (PEPE) on the Ethereum network achieved a total market capitalization of $7 billion in late May, owing to an incredible parabolic Q1 surge followed up by another moonshot green candle here in Q2, taking the meme coin to an all time high price of $0.0000167.
As Pepe Coin crushed the $6 billion market cap level on its way up to $7 billion, CoinPedia noted the frog meme was rallying despite “facing substantial liquidations in the past 24 hours.” The surge pushed Pepe up the CoinMarketCap leaderboard to #20 ahead of the Internet Computer (ICP), Dai (DAI), and all of Ethereum Classic (ETC).
Then PEPE hopped on up to a total market cap over $7 billion in May, a record price and capitalization for the frog-themed Ethereum meme currency. That’s an excellent indicator of good things to come for new meme currency projects on the Ethereum blockchain– including new dog-killer animal memes inspired by Pepe– like the back country’s Kai Cat Coin (KAI).
Pepe may come from a small pond in the back of the woods, but this little frog is no lame toady sitting in the fiat waters waiting to get boiled by rising fiat dollar prices due to untamed inflation scouring its way across the land like a global plague of military, monetary, financial, media hegemony. His friend Kai Cat is a good old country boy who sees things the same way.
While Pepe is rumored to be a French American bullfrog (although his actual nationality is unknown as far as the public knows) with a penchant for conservatism, his friend Kai Cat is a Japanese Bobtail with roots in the eastern woodlands, and a deep-seated mistrust of perennially rising grocery store prices and all those extra brokerage fees charged by TradFi institutions.
As a result, Kai Cat has opened up his Ethereum cryptocurrency business on the world’s number one, leading, and most-trusted smart contract blockchain. He’s issuing ERC20 meme tokens on Ethereum bearing his image in effigy, the adorable Kai Cat and country fisherman who’s ready to teach some altcoin gem hunters how to fish for the rest of their lives.

After Pepe Coin made it to $7 billion in total market cap, a user on Reddit’s PepeCryptocurrency subforum suggested, “Pepe to 10 billion Market Cap?”
“It appears we are at 7 billion at market cap right now. I bought 325 million Pepe at $2580 awhile back and it’s up to $5,400. If Pepe can reach that price point of 10 billion I would be at $7,700 how are you feeling about Pepe to 10 billion?”
Some Pepe bulls said they think the price is “going way higher than that!”
There’s no telling for sure where PEPE price will go next until markets have moved, but that was also true last year when the coin first started, with $0 market cap.
Now Pepe’s new friend Kai Cat is hoping to make his froggy pal proud with a pre-launch sale that really gets the meme investors pumping and memeing.
