Freedom Streaming will be the first anonymous live streaming platform to focus on protecting its users’ privacy. They do not ask for or store any personally identifiable information, which prevents your information from being leaked to hackers or subpoenaed by governments. They offer a fully free and uncensored platform without content category restrictions. The platform also ensures that no advertisements, commercials, or trackers are allowed.
With the launch of Freedom Streaming, users of the platform will not only have the opportunity to broadcast themselves and reach an international audience but also to build a community and subsequently promote their cause, whatever it may be. This provides an opportunity for anyone to stream from anywhere in the world – safe, uncensored, and anonymous. The platform aims to allow users to produce and broadcast any legal content they desire, a freedom that is not enjoyed on any other live streaming platforms.
With Freedom Streaming comes the Freedom (FDM) Tokens, which allows users of the platform to donate to one another completely anonymously, without having to release any financial information whatsoever. The tokens will be used on the platform to access premium features and channel upgrades. FDM Tokens are currently listed on EtherDelta and can begin trading as soon as the Pre-ICO launches.
The goal of the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) of FDM tokens is to raise funds for the development of the platform. The funds raised will be used to cover development cost, legal fees, and marketing, as well as operational, administrative, and server/bandwidth costs. The ICO will allow the public to exchange Ethereum (ETH) for Freedom (FDM) Tokens. 650,000,000 FDM tokens, representing 65% of the total supply, will be available during the token sale.
Platform development is set to begin in January 2018 following the close of the ICO and aims to end with full decentralization of the platform. The following is the transcript of a recent interview with a representative.
Q: What is the goal for the platform and why do something like this?
A: The internet is something so powerful that allows us to connect with one another across the globe. It gives everyone the chance to meet and connect with other like-minded individuals. More and more people are making friends online. And often times they feel closer to these online friends than their friends in real life. We want to build a platform that gives everyone in the world a chance to build a community of like-minded individuals. Eventually, small communities will grow into large communities. Alliance communities will be formed, and people will grow to understand one another. However, you can’t build a real community with censorship. People need the freedom to express who they are. Political correctness has stripped away individuality and expression. We aim to take back the freedom for the people.
Q: Who are your main competitors?
A: As far as we know, we are the only ones in the industry developing a live streaming platform without censorship. Live streaming meaning REAL-TIME broadcasting from the users. There are other heavily censored and centralized streaming platforms such as YouTube Live and Twitch where users are constantly being censored, banned, demonetized, etc.
Q: Why create the FDM Tokens? What is the purpose?
A: Creating the FDM Token on the Ethereum network serves several purposes. FDM Token holders can hold their tokens in an Ethereum wallet rather than in the platform itself. This gives the token holders the ability to transfer tokens directly to one another outside of the platform and to trade them on secondary exchange markets. Blockchain decentralization and security means that these tokens will exist forever. Another benefit is that tokens can be transferred to other platforms that wish to use the FDM tokens as well. We can develop future applications that will use the same token, and other developers can as well. Lastly, it allows us to develop a business model completely without fees. Users can donate to one another anonymously without paying any fees to the platform. In the traditional donation model as seen with webcam sites, the platform would impose a withdrawal fee on each donation, sometimes up to 50%. This is essentially taxing or stealing a piece from each and transaction, but this is how the platforms earn their revenue. In our business model, there are no fees paid to the platform. There is only a minuscule fee to cover the gas in order to send a transaction on the Ethereum network.
Q: Will the platform be safe for work and child-friendly?
A: Yes. The platform is intended for all ages. We will filter out mature oriented content. When you visit the site, you will find only safe for work content until you turn off the filter. We will have platform administrators making sure that content is properly categorized.
Q: What kind of content is allowed? What kind of content is not?
A: Freedom Streaming will truly allow for more freedom than any other platform in existence. As a freedom of speech platform, you are free to say literally anything you want. As for actions, we will not allow harmful behavior and violence against oneself, others, and animals. However, combat sports and cooking shows are perfectly okay. Also, anything that endangers the platform will not be allowed. Only adult content performers will require an ID verification.
Q: Your website recently published the book ‘Crypto World’ for free. What was the idea behind it?
A: The idea behind ‘Crypto World’ was to educate the general public on how the current monetary system works, why it is failing, and why crypto is the solution. Very few people think about or question why our money has value. They are blind to the truth. With the rising popularity of Bitcoin and other crypto, people are hopping on the bandwagon and buying without knowing why Bitcoin has value and where it comes from. The book explains what Bitcoin is and how it creates value in a way that anyone can understand. It is not a technical book, as there are already tons of technical sources on the internet, but which most people can’t understand. It then goes on to touch on some investing guidelines and ultimately how to use blockchain and crypto to build a truly democratic world without wars, governments, and financial institutions.
