With billions of dollars invested from firms like Meta (formerly Facebook) and the eyes of the world on it, the metaverse has become one of the most fascinating modern technological concepts.
One of the biggest reasons for this is that there is so much that can be done in the metaverse, from meeting people to doing business. Now, the metaverse is about to have a bit of fun infused in it via a treasure hunt.
This comes as YouHodler, a fintech platform focused on crypto-backed loans, has announced its first-ever metaverse treasure hunt that is to take place on Decentraland from May 2nd to May 4th, 2022.
A Metaverse Adventure
The treasure hunt in question will be a three-day affair and will come with a combined $30,000 to be won by participants. For this upcoming contest, YouHodler has created a special digital building where the challenges will be taking place.
In these buildings, there will be three virtual escape rooms that are filled with smart activities and challenges. As users complete these challenges, they will be able to win some of the $30,000 worth of MANA prize money.
The challenges will change from day to day and after each day of the competition is completed, the rooms will reset themselves. $10,000 worth of MANA, Decentraland’ss native currency, will be up for grabs each day and besides the money, YouHodler will be giving away exclusive NFT with VIP interest rates on one of the tokens listed on YouHodler platform to the most active participant in the challenge.
All those who participate will be given a YouHodler wearable to use in Decentraland. Treasure hunts and escape room-type adventures are very popular in the real world for team building or simply for enjoyment with friends. Now, the metaverse is getting the first of these that offers not only fun for users but real money to be won as well.
As per the official press release announcing the hunt, this is being done in collaboration with MetaDigital, a Swiss Metaverse brand of Arcades Digital and Kuble AG.
According to Chistroph Ebell, the CEO of Arcade Digital, this project will be the first of many for YouHodler users and beyond. As Head of Partnerships at YouHodler Vaida Saltenyte explains, this is designed to appeal to both existing Decentraland users and others who might not have used it yet.
“For users already on Decentraland, come visit us for new experiences and participate to win MANA. For those not in the metaverse yet, but wanted to see what it is all about, this is a perfect opportunity to finally do so. We’ve all heard a lot about the metaverse this past year so now is a great time to get acquainted with the next generation of the internet, have fun and perhaps even win great prizes in the process,” she says.
