OPEN is thrilled to announce a research collaboration with the Viterbi School of Engineering at the distinguished University of Southern California. OPEN has stated that this is the first of many planned University collaborations as they proceed to further the Blockchain space and discover more breakthroughs in the field.
OPEN Blockchain Innovation Labs (BIL) is a research and development oriented arm focused on staying at the leading edge of blockchain technology for industry use cases. Diligently developing groundbreaking work at BIL, OPEN is ready to begin releasing specific partnerships and projects that they have been advancing. BIL has committed funding to ensure that universities such as USC can stimulate dialogue between faculty and students that potentially leads to technical development on a range of industry-related topics.
With OPEN Platform’s background of organizations such as the Blockchain Research Institute, this project reinforces OPEN’s protocol chain in development. BIL is working on groundbreaking ideas in the space including distributed data protocols, cross-chain atomic swaps and many other newly emerging ideas.
OPEN believes that academic institutions and their research faculties are key elements in pioneering new innovations for blockchain technology — whether it be the evolution of crypto payments through applications in mainstream industries, helping with breakthrough protocol developments or scaling the throughput of current blockchains. As the interest in the blockchain technology continues to grow, these types of collaborations are even more critical.
In an effort to ultimately push the entire blockchain ecosystem forward, the OPEN Platform team continues to work on the most novel and toughest concepts in the industry. Similar to how OPEN has been bridging various blockchain protocols, BIL is getting the brightest minds to collaborate in order to catalyze innovation in the industry. In the very near future we could see even more exciting news as OPEN plans on revealing many of its partnerships soon!
