The Shiba Inu (SHIB) community could be in for a treat as the team recently teased an imminent announcement that could be a defining moment for the ecosystem. This comes on the back of the recent accolade that SHIB’s lead developer received for his efforts and that of the team.
SHIB’s Announcement Will “Break The Internet”
In a post shared on her X (formerly Twitter) platform, Shiba Inu’s Marketing Lead, Lucie, shared another screenshotted Telegram message from lead developer Shytoshi Kusama with the caption “…Let’s break the internet.” Lucie was referring to the announcement which they have so far teased about, as her caption suggests that it would stir a lot of reactions.
Before now, Lucie had previously shared an earlier Telegram message from Kusama where he talked about a “game-changing announcement” that was in the works. However, the developer gave little or nothing in that message as many began to speculate what the announcement could be.
In the most recent message which Lucie shared, Kusama provided more details about this announcement. He revealed that the “very big announcement” will come next week. The announcement also seems to be focused on the SHIB army, as the developer noted that it will be a “year-ending surprise” for them.
If Kusama’s hype about this announcement is anything to go by, then it no doubt has the potential to “break the internet.” While still providing further details about the announcement, the developer also mentioned that it will be a “world’s first.” According to him, this will prove once again that Shiba Inu “is leading innovation in Web3.”

Shiba Inu Team Hardwork Hasn’t Gone Unnoticed
The Shiba Inu development team led by Kusama has no doubt put in a lot of work towards building the ecosystem. This hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed, as Kusama was awarded as one of the top 50 most influential people in crypto for 2023. This was based on his effort (and that of the team) in transforming SHIB from just a meme token to a top player in the DeFi landscape.
Many will no doubt agree that the award is well deserved, especially considering how Kusama and his team have weathered the storm. Getting Shibarium to the heights it has now attained wasn’t an easy ride, as the team faced some difficulties upon launching the layer-2 network.
The lead developer had once alluded to how “true work” is needed to ensure that there is a significant increase in SHIB’s price. With the amount of work they are putting in, one could predict that better days lie ahead for the crypto token.
At the time of writing, SHIB is trading at around $0.000009893, down over 1%, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
