Bitcoin (BTC) is set to make a significant impact on the educational landscape of El Salvador. In a groundbreaking move, the country’s Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the nonprofit organization “Mi Primer Bitcoin” (MPB), or “My First Bitcoin” in English, embarks on a groundbreaking initiative to introduce crypto education as an integral part of the public school curriculum by the year 2024.
This visionary initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Education, has garnered crucial support from Bitcoin Beach, a project aimed at creating a sustainable crypto economic ecosystem along El Salvador’s picturesque coastline.
The core of the curriculum will draw extensively from MPB’s program, which, upon completion, awards students with a valuable crypto diploma.

John Dennehy, the visionary founder of MPB, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that training for the pilot program is set to commence on Sept. 7. Initially, the program will impart fundamental knowledge to 150 public school teachers hailing from 75 schools, providing them with a solid foundation in cryptocurrency.

Dennehy emphasized the global significance of El Salvador’s pioneering move, stating:
“As the first nation to adopt the crypto, El Salvador will be an example for the world. Quality education is our best chance to ensure that that example is a positive one.”
Following their training, the dedicated teachers will return to their respective schools to deliver lessons based on the curriculum developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. Should the pilot program prove successful, it will be expanded to encompass every school in the country in the coming year.
