Missing crypto influencer Fernando Pérez Algaba has been found dead, with his dismembered body found in a suitcase in Argentina.
Scenes Surrounding The Crypto Influencer’s Death
According to a report from local news outlet La Nacion, this development comes days after Algaba disappeared. Local police said some kids were playing by a stream when they discovered the dismembered body of the crypto influencer in a red suitcase in the town of Ingeniero in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on July 23.
Upon being informed by the children’s parents, the police arrived at the location and found the victim’s legs and forearm in the suitcase, along with four documents belonging to a family in the town Algaba was staying in. They also found another arm in the stream.
Authorities later discovered Algaba’s head and torso on Wednesday. According to an autopsy report, he was shot thrice before his body was chopped. The police confirmed Alagba’s identity by the tattoos marked on his body parts, and his fingerprints were identified after the autopsy.
The local media reports that his body parts were chopped cleanly, suggesting a professional was responsible for the operation. This could mean that Algaba’s death was an execution instead of a random murder.
According to the New York Post, Algaba had been staying in Argentina for a week before this tragic event of his death. He was considered missing after he reportedly didn’t return the keys to his rented apartment.

The Police say that a suspect has been arrested in connection with his murder. Nicol Alma Chamorro, a trans woman, has reportedly been charged with killing Algaba as they believed she may have murdered him to settle a score. However, the police believe there might have been others, so the investigation continues.
Cause Of Death
Algaba, a self-made millionaire, had nearly a million followers on Instagram and was known to flaunt his lavish lifestyle on his platform frequently. After spending some time in Miami, US, the influencer moved to Barcelona, Spain, where he was based before his untimely death.
While the investigation is ongoing, the authorities suspect Algaba’s death may be connected to his massive debts. The victim’s brother revealed that the crypto-influencer was in financial problems as he had lost a fortune to bad investments in some crypto-related funds and because of the money he owed the tax authorities in Argentina.
The 41-year-old also lent credence to the authorities’ suspicions as he left a note confirming that he had lost huge sums of money to bad crypto investments and had taken a $40,000 loan from a gang, Barra Bravas, La Nacion newspaper reported.
“If something happens to me, everyone is already warned,” Algaba said.
For now, the police are yet to release more details regarding their investigation and who the killer might be. However, his brother, Rodolfo Perez, has vowed to find his brother’s killers and ensure that he gets justice for his brother.
