December 2, 2022 UBi, a new social media platform that brings together decentralisation, their Post-2-Earn model, and equitable treatment of content creators, has announced its incoming launch in Summer 2023 .
Ever since social media content creation took off with the growth in popularity of apps like Tik Tok taking market share from more established platforms. While content creators can be compensated for their work on these legacy platforms, UBi is focused towards the performers and procure equality for each user. SocialFi bridges the gap between the creator and their audience and keeps their interests at the heart of the relationship.
UBis Post-2-Earn model will allow content creators to receive payment and build their communities based on engagement with their content and audience, encouraging high quality production and immediate feedback from the community. Payments will be made equally and not be restricted by payout thresholds that can stifle emerging creators.
Historically, the social media landscape is heavily saturated with centralised organisations that have all come under major criticism in recent years over privacy issues and their overuse of algorithmically driven systems. UBi will change the relationship between audience and creator, moving beyond follower counts as a status symbol and focusing on the audience response to content.
UBi takes on the philosophy of the DeFi movement and focuses on the decentralisation and privacy that has been critical to the movement. With crypto being used and traded by around three hundred million people worldwide, and 59% using social media, the majority being young people (16-35) who also have an overlapping interest in emerging technologies. This represents a potentially huge market for a Web3 platform to utilise.
As well as creators being able to earn UBi Tokens through their content, the platforms will also include a stake as you earn model to further reward creators for their use of the platform.
