Shiba Inu is on the cusp of a significant transformation. Lucie (@LucieSHIB), the marketing lead for Shiba Inu, announced via X on October 17 that the Shiba Inu Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) and the Shib Doggy DAO Foundation are “coming soon,” signaling a pivotal shift toward decentralization and community governance.
“The time is almost here. As we approach the 2024/2025 launch, the Shib ecosystem is on the verge of a transformative shift that will put power into the hands of real holders,” Lucie stated. She emphasized that the upcoming DAO and Foundation are designed to exclude “trolls” and “FUD-spreaders” who do not hold tokens but may attempt to influence the project’s direction negatively.
Why A Shiba Inu DAO And Foundation?
The Shib Doggy DAO Foundation aims to legally encapsulate the DAO, ensuring that community decisions are properly executed. “The SHIB Doggy DAO Foundation will legally wrap around the DAO, ensuring that the decisions made by the community are properly executed,” Lucie explained. “It will manage assets like the Doggy Treasury and prevent any future misallocations, providing transparency and security.”
This move is intended to demonstrate that Shiba Inu is “a serious player with a long-term vision,” distancing itself from projects that lack sustainable planning and community involvement. The DAO will empower holders of four key tokens—SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and the forthcoming TREAT—to participate in governance decisions.
The governance model will be divided into four distinct areas: SHIB governs the community itself, BONE powers Shiba Inu’s technology, LEASH offers protection and exclusivity, and TREAT empowers and funds community projects.
“A DAO is a governance system where holders of key tokens—Shib, Bone, Leash, and Treat—have the power to make crucial decisions,” Lucie noted. “This decentralized model ensures that the future of Shib is determined by those who believe in it, not by outside voices or short-term hype.”
Lucie stressed that only genuine token holders would influence the project’s future. “What’s most important is that real holders will be the ones making the decisions that shape Shib’s future,” she said. “The trolls, FUD-spreaders, and naysayers in Telegram groups won’t have any influence because they don’t hold the keys to the ecosystem.”
She also issued a warning about fake versions of the TREAT token, which has not yet been released. “As I mentioned Treat above, remember it hasn’t been released yet,” Lucie cautioned. “So, if you hold any knock-offs, you won’t be able to participate in the DAO or any ecosystem dApps with them. As the Shiba Inu ecosystem moves toward this new governance model, Lucie acknowledged that implementation would take time to perfect. “As this governance system is implemented, it will take time to perfect,” she admitted. “But once it’s fully operational, it will create a perpetual and autonomous system, ensuring the Shib ecosystem is built to last.”
