Serial investor and Bitcoin bull Tim Draper has delivered his 2018 Bitcoin price prediction, telling an event audience the cryptocurrency will be worth $250,000 in four years.
‘Believe It, It’s Happening’
Speaking at the 2018 Block (Chain) Party at Draper University in San Mateo, California April 12, Draper, who has a reliable record of forecasting Bitcoin prices, instructed those listening to ignore anyone who was more bearish.
“I’m thinking $250,000 a bitcoin by 2022… Believe it, it’s going to happen; they’re going to think you’re crazy but believe it, it’s happening, it’s going to be awesome!” he said.
Despite the relatively unofficial circumstances of his call, Draper peering into a homemade ‘crystal ball’ before around fifty somewhat underwhelmed spectators, cryptocurrency investors have cause to listen.
Previously, the serial Bitcoin holder had correctly called the rise to $10,000 in 2017 – a full three years beforehand, when Bitcoin prices hovered around $300.
Forgetting The FUD With Tim
Having amassed a huge sum of the cryptocurrency through US government auctions, Draper continues to provide sound bites throughout mainstream media and beyond, weathering negative sentiment and prices troughs.
The San Mateo event was one such example, an effort to plug the benefits of truly decentralized implementations of both cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology.
“The blockchain is one of the most transformational technologies that has happened in the history of the world, and it is totally worth celebrating,” Draper told local news media outlet the Daily Journal prior to the start.
Meanwhile, other investment sources continue to fly against prevailing sentiment that the so-called ‘bubble’ in Bitcoin prices is over and that December 2017’s $20,000 highs marked levels never to be repeated.
As Bitcoinist reported, David Drake, Chairman of LDJ Capital, is eyeing a price point of $30,000 per coin by the end of the year, having appeared to correctly call the turnaround occurring in April.
